What best use time w/following? into Rome AM,drive to Florence villa for 4/5days and back Rome 1 nite 1dy.?

8 adults traveling together & would like to get the most we can of the culture and sites. please help!!!!

Florence is about a 4 to 5 hour drive from Rome. So you can definitely follow that program without too much stress. It's a pity though to stay in Rome one day only. Florence is beautiful and there are loads of amazing little towns near by that are definitely worth a visit. But Rome too is absolutely amazing and you will miss a lot if you stay only a day.

I would suggest 4 days in Florence if you want to take day trips out of town and AT LEAST a couple of days in Rome. Have a nice trip!!

Curious about a vehicle for eight people.  The trains from Rome to Florence are wonderful and fast.  

We had six people and day trips for all were impossible.  Are you getting two cars?

The highlight of our trip were the Tuscan hill towns with Rome being near the bottom of the list.  Do not do a tour of the Vatican.  Go on your own.
