I mainly do freeride with a bit of downhilling. I am fairly hard on bikes (i crash quite a bit) and my price budget might be around $2000 since i'm only 14. I definataly want a full suspension because i have a hardtail now, and its pretty harsh. so i'm just wondering what kind of bike to get, and maybe what model?

thanks

  1. Specialized makes very good bikes. I have a 'hard rock sport' and it's really nice. Disc brakes, great suspension... and I'm pretty brutal to it lol. It's a solid bike though so that's not a problem. And it's a reasonable price... under a thousand dollars if I remember correctly.

  2. The best thing to do is to go to your local bike shop and demo some bikes. Most manufacturers like Yeti, Iron Horse, Santa Cruz, Kona, Specialized, Giant, & Chumba all make good frames. And they all use pretty much the same components right?

So just tryout which frame fits you the best.

  3. Aright definently no specialized to expensive. I would look at the yeti 575 or commencal bikes, santa cruz vp-free, or a used ellisworth dare. Maybe a cannondale rush.  I race dh and freeride every day pretty much been riding since dh since i was 9 and started trail riding since i was 6
