  1. A pterodactyl... You never said it had to still be alive...

  2. Yowch! That sounds painful.

I would have to say the macaws probably have the worst bite. Like all parrots, macaws' beaks are built for cracking open hard objects, so they're very powerful; and macaws include the largest of the parrots, which have the shortest, deepest beaks and the strongest bite. I can't think of any other bird, living or extinct, that has a beak like that; there were some very large birds in the past, like the teratorns, but they did not have particularly strong or sharp beaks, and the "pterodactyls" weren't even birds to begin with. Although if we aren't talking about the strongest beak for the bird's size, then I guess there are also the mihirungs, which were giant flightless duck relatives with bone-crushing beaks.

  3. Any of the larger parrots could do a pretty bad job on your hand or finger if they bit you hard enough. Peacocks, as mentioned, could have a bad bit too, the bigger the bird the worse the bite usually. As long as your bite is healing okay you should be fine. An umbrella cockatoo could do some serious damage.

  4. Brazilian Parrots. They'll seriously bite your finger off.

  5. Probably one of the birds of prey.  Imagine being bit by an eagle:

Eagle trainers had better know what they're doing.  Keep that bird HAPPY!

  6. HI- well in australia we have a bird called the Cassawary, its got 2 legs like an emu and is sortove flightless, its very territorial and have been known to badly injure or kill humans in there territory!

  7. In my experience Rainbow lorikeet's can do a lot of damage, They have the sharpest beak ever.

Before I had my hand tamed lori, a friend had a wild lori which had flown into his window, he had kept in a box overnight to see if lived.

The next day it seemed ok, so I tried to release it but it wouldn't fly out of the box, so stupid me picked it up and the next second it spun it's head around and took two big bites out of my hand, with my screaming and blood flowing freely it flew off....

9 stitches later to re-join the missing pieces from the two bites that were down to the bone and all is better lol...

Been bitten by Galah's and sulphur crested cocky's numerous times and that's never happen.

Sorry for the long winded story lol.

KittY, I'm from Australia too and sorry the Cassowary doesn't bite you to death, it rips out you intestines with its sharp toes..

Sorry I don't mean to criticise your post but I think the OP wants biting birds.
