Well, besides being sure that you don't forget anyone's birthday and buy them a present, the occassion is usually marked by either a family breakfast, lunch or dinner. The restaurant (or home-cooked meal) is chosen by the birthday boy/girl. Our family (extended as well) has numerous sets of twins so it can become quite a large party of people. It always turns out to be a great fun occassion, nonetheless!

Our family tradition is to ignore the birthday boy/girl and pretend that it's a normal day...saves you a lot...maybe you should try it, I know you have a birthday celebration coming up soon (in like 6 days)...just ignore the birthday person
