  1. the easiest and best way to determine the size of your ride is to stand tall, stand the board tall right in front of you, and the boards should reach somewhere in between your nose and your chin.

  2. I am 5'9 and ride a 157. I think you could ride anything between a 147 and 150. Do you want to ride rails and jumps in the park eventually? Then go for the 147 with alot of flex and employ a wider, "duck footed" stance. If you just plan to do all mountain riding, I would go with the 150.

Also, since you are a girl you  might want to find a more narrow board that weighs less. Your toes should hang about an inch over the toe edge. Have fun on your new board!!!

  3. If your just beginning, you could have a pretty wide range, whatever really seems right, about between your chin and nose maybe. If your into freestyle, go with a shorter board. Around your chin in height. 147 seems good for something like that. If your into riding backcountry, or mountains (which if you were, you would probably know what board you would want) go for a longer one.

  4. I'm 5.6 and i ride a 149cm. It's a freestyle (park/street) board. If you're just begining it's always best to go smaller because smaller is easier for starters. You're not going to want to worry about a board being too small as you should a board being too big. 147 sounds fine but i wouldn't go too much bigger. you'd even be fine going smaller.

good luck and always have fun =]

  5. If you're average weight a 147 should do you just fine.  I'm 5'6 and ride a 146.  It's a little on the short side but I like that it turns well and is easy to control.

You also want to make sure you get a narrow and flexible board.  You don't have to limit yourself to looking for a chick board, there are guys boards that are soft enough that you can ride them just fine.
