  1. well many authors inspire so im planning to write a series of books.

The authors who are inspiring me are:

          1) Stephanie Meyer

          2) Barbara Park

          3) Sarah Dessen

And many others who wrote a series of books!!!

  2. Twilight. One of the "THIS is a bestseller? I can write better than this!" moments of inspiration. :)

  3. On a positive note, Anne Rice's Tale of the Body Thief really got me thinking about writing.  It was a tale about the beauty of being human disguised as a vampire novel, and was just beautifully written in my opinion.

On a negative note, I was reading some Robert Ludlum piece of c**p and I only made it through about four chapters before putting it down in disgust and saying "I could write better than THIS!"

  4. Jack Ketchum's "The Girl Next Door", definitely gave some spark to my own writing career.  It was probably one of the most horrifying, disturbing, and depressing books I've ever read.  It's hard to go away from a book like that and not have at least some desire to also create a strong emotional impact on readers as well.

  5. the twilight books by stephenie meyer

  6. 'Disappearing Acts' by Terry McMillian

I was inspired both by the author and the book.  The author inspired me to write because despite her age and her single motherhood she kept pushing to publish with a large publisher.  At one point she managed to save money and do a booktour without her publisher and now she is a multi millionaire with several published books.

The book itself was an inspiration in that it was one of the first books I'd read where the perspective of the female and male were told with an intimate first person feel.  I don't remember for sure if it was written that way but it was how it made me feel that made me decide that writing was something I could do even when I'm older as long as I write well.  I remember thinking that most of my own writing showed both male and female sides of the story and I wasn't sure I could accurately portray a males perspective so I kept at it.

Also the story wasn't the typical love story with the happily ever after ending but a happy with me and my life conclusion that left me feeling empowered as a woman.  Despite the ups and downs of life the character had to hold off on her dreams but was still able to accomplish her long terms goals in the end.  Again dreams can be defferred and rediscovered and this book was exactly what I needed at the time to show me that.

I have to admit that in reading the typical love stories I felt that in some cases I could write better and I had a more exciting story line floating around in my head but the truth of it was I didn't know anything about the industry or how to get started.  Eventually snuck up on me one day and I decided that there is only one type of love story, the one where two people fall in love.  How, when, where, why and who was my job as the writer to create and color and make unique.  So did.  Three years later I was getting it published and all I kept thinking was how close I am to Terry McMillian's age when she got published.

  7. Stephanie Meyer is such an inspiration, i have actually started to write my own book.

  8. The Chrysalids by John Wyndham
