  1. Saint Augustine of Hippo (354 - 430) is believed to have coined this term. I don't think it is in the bible.

    At that time, the church was deemed as corrupt, therefore a 'w***e'. However, we should fix this and stick with it, as 'she is our mother'.

    Martin Luther used this quote similarly.
