The American Girl Series. Very educational stories about different cultures and generations. Recommend highly.

It's been a long time since I have been a seven year old but here are some of the books I read:

The Magic Treehouse series by Mary Pope Osborne - Easy, fun, and there's a lot of them. Also, it teaches them some history.

The Boxcar Children series by Gertrude Chandler - The first book isn't really a mystery book but after that they are. They are easy and they have characters in them that younger kids can connect with.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl - Its a really fun, imaginative book, better than the movies by far. And afterward, you can watch both of the movie versions and help them to compare them to the book. It also has sequels like The Glass Elevator or something, too.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kenney- These weren't out when I was that age, but my little brother loved them.

The Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket - These are good books. A lot of people liked them a lot more than I did, but I still thought they were good.

The Phantom Tollbooth by Norman Juster - I actually read this when I was about nine, but it was very easy. It was kind of a creative, unusual book. They made a movie/cartoon out of it that he could watch afterward, also.

Charlotte's Web  by E.B. White - Does it really need any explanation? I cried during that book when I was little.

That's all I can think of right now. If you are talking about a girl, you might want to try the Nancy Drew series also. Hope this helps, have fun :)

you should first understand the interest the child is having and then provide the child books according to it. this will imrove grammar and vocabulary and the child will also gain interest in reading books which is very good.
