What books would you like to be seen made into a movie and whats books do you know are being made into movies right now?

"Lullaby", "Rant: An Oral Biography of Buster Casey", and "Invisible Monsters" by Chuck Palahniuk

"Tomcat In Love" and "Going After Cacciato" by Tim O'Brien ("The Things They Carried" is his best book, but I'm worried about how that'd translate)

"Life, the Universe, and Everything" by Douglas Adams

"The Gun Seller" by Hugh Laurie

Books that -are- being made into movies:

"The Rum Diary" by Hunter S. Thompson

"Survivor" by Chuck Palahniuk

"Choke" by Chuck Palahniuk

Also--I had no idea "Angels and Demons" or "Atlas Shrugged" was being made into a movie!  Nice...

I may add more as I think of them.  But I'm especially excited about the Palahniuk movies that are being made.  He's an excellent author, and "Fight Club" turned out so well...

I also want to see "Slaughterhouse Five" which is -already- a movie, I just haven't been able to find it yet.

Interesting question. I'd like it if they made The Magician's Boy by C.S. Lewis into a movie. I know they made the rest of Chronicles of Narnia into a movie, but I actually like that one much better.

Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer, too. Hmm... Also Poison and The Haunting of Alaizabel Cray by Chris Wooding.

I don't know what books they're making into a movie that I'd want to see. I think I did hear they're making Artemis Fowl into a movie, but imdb.com has no information on it, soo... I guess they're not. So nothing, really.

Books I'd like to see as movies:

The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux (I know there already have been movies, but I want to see one that's true to the original. So far, none are, though the 1925 film comes pretty close...until the end.)

The Sweet Far Thing by Libba Bray (the other two as well, but this most of all)

The Bartimaeus Trilogy by Jonathan Stroud

Edit: I know! I'm excited too. Viggo Mortensen plays the dad, Charlize Theron plays the wife, and a newcomer Kodi Smit-McPhee plays the son. It looks really good and it's coming out this year on November 26, 2008!
