I enjoyed these books. Loved the writing style and old language the characters use in the books. And you really feel the characters.

Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy

Pride and Predjudice by Jane Austen

Stranger by Albert Camus

Can you recommend other books, not from these authors please?

  1. -Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte

-Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky

-The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne

-A Tale of Two Cities y Charles Dickens

    -Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte

  2. Any of the Sherlock Holmes books.

  3. I've been reading George Eliot's novels right now (I'm on Silas Marner at the moment). I LOVE her. Mark Twain and Jane Austen are my favorite authors, but I think George is going to replace them because I like her that much. She lived during the 1860s, so it might have some of the "language and writing style" you are looking for.
