What books should i get to become a plastic surgen.?

I am in high school and i am getting home schooled next year. I can choose what i learn and i want to learn about plastic surgery...i am looking for textbooks on plastic surgery......PLEASE HELP the summer is almost over.

Just do a search for plastic surgery textbook. I doubt that doctors who go to school for it use only one thing. You might also see if your local university book store has something for med students studying plastic surgery.

become a plastic surgeon or learn about plastic surgery?  The first is an over 12 year process for which I would recommend focusing on graduating from college with nearly straight A's and the prerequisite courses.  The second is a research project which you would approach like any other by defining your goals more clearly and finding appropriate materials to fulfill them.  A third possibility is that you're considering medicine as a career and want more exposure to it.  For this, I recommend finding a mentor.

Start with anatomy/physiology and biochemistry. You might also look at comparative anatomy and histology. Those are all fundamental for plastic surgery, in actuality plastic surgery is, as someone else posted, a final product of medical school and years of residency.

But enjoy what you're doing and learn away! You might also look at a good writing course, as college and med school are very rigid in their writing requirements and expressing yourself. Math is also important, algebra and trig at least or you won't have enough time in college to attain enough math for med school admittance.
