First thing, check out why Bose isn't worth the money: http://www.avtruths.com/bose.html

Assuming you have one of the 5 Blu-ray Disc players on the planet which supports the latest HD audio formats, this Onkyo "all-in-one" system for $1,000 will make sure you take full advantage of the Blu-ray format.  Click the link: http://www.onkyousa.com/model.cfm?m=HT-S...

For complete listing of those "5" Blu-ray Disc players which decode and transmit "HD audio" (DolbyTrueHD/DTSHD Master Audio), scroll down near the bottom of this link: http://www.avtruths.com/uncompressed.htm...

  2. any of them take your pick!!!

  3. I would go with a 5-speaker set, that way you are getting true surround sound.

  4. Don't go for Bose, thats the best advice anybody could give.

  5. any of the higher end lifestyle systems should work.  double check with bose online before you buy.

  6. Why use Bose at all? Their only advantage is they are compact. Their disadvantage is speaker placement because unless they have made major changes to the design, the wall behind them actually becomes part of the system. Yamaha makes some dynamite speakers and systems at less over-all cost.
