My daughter is 1 month old and has really bad gas. I use the Playtex drop in Nursers and I was wondering if there is something better out there. I give her gas drops and she is on gentlease formula. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  1. Since my daughter was diagnosed with GERD, and even hospitalized for it, at the age of a week and a half, we've been using Dr.Brown's. (They now have the BPA free version). They work wonders when she has to be bottle fed, and everyone I know who's had a child in the last few years has sworn by them, as well as Avent (also available BPA free, but a little more expensive than Dr.Brown's).

  2. I'm pregnant with my first; however, I already have people telling me what kind of bottles I should use. (Just in the interim when I am not available to breast feed). They all swear by Dr. Brown's!!

I am choosing Breast Flow by Playtex though as they, to me, imitate the breast better than any other brand on the market.

  3. i use playtex ventaire =)

  4. Dr. Brown

  5. I give my baby gas drops and gentle ease too, but he still has gas. It's just a baby thing, that is what my lactation consultant said. All babies will have gas. I think the bottle companies just use that as a marketing ploy. The baby is going to suck in air no matter what. Just make sure you burp her about every ounce she takes in.

  6. i tried the playtex drop ins and didn't like them..we use dr.browns, there are a lot of parts to wash but they work, i have recently started using the playtex ventairs and they seem to work well too

  7. we use Born Free bottles and they have an air vent system to reduce air intake...i love them

  8. We use the bent evenflo ones.

  9. I've heard that Dr. Brown bottles are great for this.  I use the MAM (bpa-free) by Sassy and love them (much cheaper than the Dr. Brown bottles).  They are great for reducing gas but can be a pain to clean at first.  http://www.mambabyusa.com/sassy/go?d=bot...

  10. I love the Dr. Brown's bottles.  We switched Emma from a normal bottle to these and it made a huge difference in her gas and spitting up.

  11. I myself use the Playtex drop ins and they work great for my son but if that's not working for you, I've heard Dr. Brown's are great for controlling gas (though they are apparently hard to clean).

  12. looks like you are doing everything from your part.  A lot of babies will go through a phase of gas until 10 weeks. When she cries of gas pain, just hold her and give her mylicon after every feeding. She is settle down sooner. Good luck!

  13. I was going to say drop-ins but you already use them :)

I would say Dr Brown, get BPA free
