i dont think that cutting is all emo and everything, i mean a lot of people do it, but for some people it might be addicting,actually it can be addicting, people that have had cutting addictions compare it to ciggarrete addiction. Im not emo and i had the urge to cut myself, but i didnt =), so i mean, i would say dont do it, because it will damage your body, and those scars are permanent. just hold in your breath for like 30 seconds, and then exhale, continue to do that until you feel relaxed.

Whatever works for you. Though personally I dont understand it, I knows lots of people who do it, though. I wish they would get help but they dont seem to be able to. And also all emos dont cut themselves, only some do.

Thats stupid.  if youre depressed, then be depressed.  But dont go cutting yourself, commit suicide, or something else self-damaging thats totally serious just to fulfill a stereotype, thats retarded.

Plus I know many social, happy emos.  Its the style that makes them emo, not depression.

Also, anyone who says cutting is "bad" obviously doesn't understand a thing about it. This is just a close-minded stereotype, and anyone who does not cut shouldn't be criticizing people who do. It's a coping mechanism, and if you don't like it, then don't do it.
