Question:

What boxing gloves/wraps should i buy?

I'm just looking at having a little bit of fun at home punching the bag. I've seen you can get Boxing Gloves and wraps.

I was just wondering what someone could recommend i buy?

I was thinking of getting wraps that you don't slide your hand through. Would that be enough protection on the bag? Or do i need gloves or wraps that slide on?

Thanks

  1. I went to wal-mart ( yes i said wal-mart ) and got some REALLY good heavy bag gloves. they were about $20

Everlast brand. you should get them.

i don't wear handwraps under them, but most people say you should but it's really your choice.

  2. If it's not for training seriously and you really are just trying to have fun, I would stick to cheap Everlast stuff. You can get 14 oz. Everlast training gloves for around $15-$20 and wraps for about $10. I would suggest getting the wraps if you can pack power in a punch. If you have big hands, don't get the slip-on wraps. You'll need to use the wrap "tape." Every time I don't use wraps, my knuckles are killing me by round 3.

  3. You should wear handwraps unless you like the idea of possibly breaking your wrists of hands. You can never go wrong with Everlast. Fairtex makes some good gloves as well. As for the hand wraps, I prefer the ones where you actually wrap them. It's all on you.
