What branch of science would you consider nuclear weapons and why?

I consider it to be mainly a product of physics, with a close second being chemistry.  By its nature, it is not a chemical reaction (defined by the transfer of electrons) but it is, obviously, a nuclear reaction (the nuclei of the atoms change).  Chemistry does not place as much emphasis on nuclear reactions as physics does.
