I am looking to purchase a bike to drive to work. I will be traveling 2 miles one way. Most of the terrain will be the shoulder of the road. (pavement and grass) There are some slight grades on the route. I'm looking to spend between $100 and $200. Thanks in advance.

  1. You should be able to find a decent hybrid in that range, especially if you're willing to buy used. Just as a heads up, you'll want to ride on the actual road, not the shoulder. It seems counter-intuitive, but is actually much safer. Go to your local bike shop and have them go over your options with you and figure out what size bike you should be on. They'll be more than willing to do this for you, no charge.

  2. just head to your local shop and they will hook you up, I think a trek 3700 would suit you well also
