I suggest JBL I agree that the bass is deeper but not only that just sound quality overall is fantastic. I have 2 sets of P660c's in my subaru and I love them. I've had polk in a escort they were nice but I honestly can say I love JBL much better. and I listen to ALL kinds of music. go to a audio store and listen to a sample between the 2 brands.

Polk is much better than JBL.

From speakers, you don't expect bass, you want clear mids and highs, not bass, subs are for bass.

Polk is a premier company when it comes to speakers and would be my top five all time speaker choices, JBL on the other hand, way out of Polk audio's class. The Polk's will destroy JBL anyday, mark my word. I gurantee.

JBLs are definitely the better of the two, but that's only if you plan to amplify them.  If you arn't going to add an amplifier, and plan on running them of your deck, then you'll want to run which ever has the highest sensitivity. (sensitivity is in terms of dB, even a 1 dB difference is noticeable, as dB is logarithmic)

Both make a good product.  What is the most important is if your getting the most for your money.  Decide how much you want to spend, and then compare what each company offers in that price range.  I'm a die hard rockford fan, but went with memphis amps for the lifetime warrant!
