What brand of Eyeshadow would work just as good as MAC but much cheaper?

Ok, I know MAC is amazing. And I know that's why it's priced so high.

But I'm really into creating colourful styles and experimenting with makeup and I like making them look professional. Right now i'm using barry m dazzle dust. Which is pretty good but it's annoying as it just falls down onto my face and it isn't as easy to use as eyeshadow.

As my mum currently refuses to raise my pocket money, and she refuses to let me go get a job... I can't go out and buy MAC cosmetics. Or even urban decay :|

So yeah, to cut to the chase...

what brands have you tried that have really good, colourful and bright eyeshadows that having staying power (:

Thanks x

  1. If it's cheap you're after then there's loads of options here:

  2. Yeah I was gonna suggest Barry M dazzle dust but it IS annoying. NYC colours is good and maybe Miss Sporty. Barry M is still the most colourful, and it works better if you don't put much on the brush. Little sponge brushes work well with Barry M too. I was in Superdrug today and Bourjois had some pretty bright stuff too. I love Barry M though! GOSH is good too, but stuff like Rimmel and Max Factor don't really have the colours, they are more normal colours, not a whole range.

  3. Honestly I don't think there is that much of a quality difference between eye shadow brands. Sephora brand is quite cheap and comes in lots of colors. Also, to add staying power use a wet brush to apply.

  4. Miss Sporty or 2True at Superdrug. Really cheap really good.

  5. rimmel rimmel rimmel i use it. it is great !!! ... last ages and only about £3.50

  6. I agree about the Dazzle Dusts..

Try NYX, if you live in the UK you can get it from cherryculture.com

  7. Try Bourjois eye-shadows!!!.... i swear by them, absolutely brilliant stuff!

    Also L'Oreal eye-shadows are good.

  8. d**n i was going to suggest barry M as their colour slection is amazing ... but i know what u mean about powder all over ur face lol!! The likes of rimmel and collection 2000 are quite cheap but not ness that colourful .... Boujous have a great range of eyeshadows in lots of different colours ... its about £5 so i know its not really cheap but its lovely stuff ... another great new option now that i think about it is Eyeko its available on asos.com and now in superdrug ... they have beautiful eyeshadow palets and everything in their range is £4.99 .... superdrug also have another range with lots of colourful eyeshadows ... i cant think what the name is but the colours were great and it was really cheap so after all my ramblings i reconmend hitting ur local superdrug ... theres lots of bargins to be had!!!

    Good luck x*x

  9. have u ever thought about getting it of ebay ? theres a woman on the called cocktail cosmestics its her shop name but if u dont live in the uk i dont think youll be able to order but she sells mac make up really cheap.

if not i use nyx kind of hard to get if ur from the uk though

ive been using barry m dazzle dusts aswell for  a while now i have the whole collection try to get a wet wipe and wipe ur brush a bit then dip ur brush in the pot and tap gentley to get of the pigment u dont need

im also tryin elf  ill find the website for u in a sec there quite good aswell but there colours are a bit plain nothing really colourful

if ur starting out i wouldnt use pigments as it gets messy and goes all over ur face id start with pressed eyeshadow its much easier to apply

also make sure u have a great brush set brushes make a huge diffrence

ive also used collection 2000 there like barry m but cheaper u can get these at chemist i have the blue and its gorgeous

sorry for the long long longgggggggg story lol im bored and have nothing to do :D

good luck ill post the link to elf when i find it also there really cheap £1.50 4 1 eyeshadow each

    www.eyeslipsface.co.uk < i think its that

  10. switch to barry m pressed eye shadows there amazing i use them there more vibrant than the dusts and theres much less fallout

  11. if you love bright colours then you will LOVE this palette...its AMAZING! the colours are highly pigmented & its dead cheap for what it is. it is an unbranded palette. check it out! you get 120 colours for under a tenner!!

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/120-Full-color-Pal...

get a good eyeshadow primer if you want really good lasting. i suggest urban decay primer potion.

    good luck x

  12. max. its really good. its colorful, and i love it.

  13. go to a store n test a few out on ur hand blend them in n ul kno whether they will last or fall... bourjois however is good n quite reasonably priced

  14. L'Oreal HiP, try those. Mac is just mac, it's not that great, not for THAT kind of money. Also, it's all in the way it's put on. BarryM may have some 'fallout', but if you use a primer on the eyes of some kind, that should cut down on it. Check out panacea81 vids on youtube. Absolutely amazing!

  15. I don't think barry m do compressed eyeshaddow. But I use dazzle dust and i find if you wet an eyeshaddow brush then apply the eyeshaddow it doesnt fall onto your cheeks, it also stays put longer and the colour comes out stronger. But GOSH have bright compressed eyeshaddows which are around the same price as barry m. which are available in boots. Try brands aimed at a yonger market as they are more likely to have bright colours.

    Good luck

  16. GOSH!

  17. NYX Single Eyeshadow

    La Femme Sparkle Dust

Also, if some eye shadows don't show up as much as you want, try NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils as a base.  It instantly makes your eye shadows pop!
