Question:

What brand of Prenatal Vitamins are these?

Ok, so here is the story. After 5 days, the pharmacy STILL didn't have the brand of Prenatal Vitamins my doctor prescribed....so they gave me a prescription of an "equivalent" vitamin. The thing is they didn't tell me what brand it was, and the prescription bottle still says that the pills are my original prescription (which they are NOT)....

They are white, oblong, with flat edges. One side says B 155 on it with a score in the middle, and the other is blank.

Please note, they are white, but my light makes them look different.

I have looked, and looked for what these are to no avail. I just want to know how much of each vitamin and mineral is in each pill.

Thank you, and I hope you can help!

  1. I don't know the exact brand, but I do know its a generic prenatal vitamin...I could look it up at work and get back to you on that.

A lot of times certain brands of generic prenatal vitamins aren't made any more by the manufacturer...what happens is the pharmacy tries to order it from the wholesaler, and then they find out that they can't get it in because its being discontinued by the manufacturer, so the only thing they can do is call your OB  and switch you to another brand.

As long as the vitamin has 1mg of folic acid I am certain its an acceptable equivalent. I am pretty sure all RX prenatals have 1mg of folic acid. Your OB can tell you if they are looking for something more in a vitamin for you. You need call the pharmacy, they will tell you this information...and let them know that the bottle should NOT have still have had the name of the first tablet on it if they dispensed something else. Thats misbranding.

    Good luck!
