What brand of milk thistle is better?

My mom wants me to buy milk thistle for my dad.

I looked up online, there are tons of milk thistle brands.

And i am wondering which one is better?

They're all the same.  And they don't help liver disease like they claim.

In other words......if you drink too much milk thistle is not a panacea for your liver issues.

For the most part many of them are the same. Keep in mind that with supplements you get what you pay for. The quality ones will actually be effective and cost more. Since the majority of supplement makers are not quality then they are all basically the same.

Is the milk thistle organic? It can make it more effective if it is. No chemicals to interfere with the natural properties of the plant.

Is it produced under pharmaseudical grade? If not there will be foreign particles in it. Some bottles may only have 75% of what is stated while others may have 130% if it is not done under pharmaseudical grade?

How long does it take to make the product once the plant is harvested? Plants start to loose nutrition after 4 hours from the time they are harvested. The sooner they can be put into pills and tablets the better.

What part of the plant is used. Is it just the fruit or the root or both? You need both for it to be worthwhile.

What else is in the supplement? Does it contain dandelion, turmeric, and bioflavonoids in it? These work with the milk thistle and make it much more effective.
