What brand of skateboard is best for starters?

Okay I am an athletic person and I would love to learn how to be a good skateboarder. I have never tried it before so I have absolutely no idea how to go about buying a skateboard and what kind. I’ve heard that Zoo York’s and Elements are a good brand but I’m just not sure. I want to get one that will last at least a year. However my price range is 100 dollars. I have no idea what size to get either I am 5’7 and I weigh 130 pounds.

Ok first off , I don't recomend SKATEboarding , I personally think LONGboarding . It is much like a skateboard , but of corse , longer . It is a lot of fun . There are some tricks you can do with it , but it is mainly for going down hills . And if you decide to do this instead , i recomend the sector 9 boards . The price is between $150 and $180 depending on the kind you get . But remember , if you do go down hills , make sure you know how to powerslide . Let me know if you want to know what that is . :)

I skateboard (and im a girl). I would recommend a Zero board, or a Plan B board. They last a long time. You can buy a complete skateboard, or you can buy different parts seperately. If you buy seperately, its good because some brands might do really good decks, and another really good wheels and bearings.

Basically, I'd say any of the following brands are really good:

the above link has some completes, but be warned for a good skateboard it'll be at least £50, lol. All the boards are good for al weights i think.
