I need a light, pretty synthetic western saddle. My horse needs full QH Bars and I need a 14.5" seat.

  1. Take a look at Wintec and Abetta. They are both excellent and very affordable.

  2. IF you need a light saddle, I'd go with a leather barrel saddle.  The reason is that the synthetics don't have much give and the ones I've seen don't have any give when it comes to trees and can easily sore up a horse and really aren't that balanced or comfortable in the long run.

I'd go to ebay and look there.  Circle Y puts out nice saddles and I'm sure you could find one that's affordable.

    This one's a 15" but it's light and affordable.

Remember, leather lasts and you can normally get your money out of the saddle should you decide to sell it.

  3. Wintec, i have 6 saddles and they are all wintec saddles and they are all great

  4. I like the Big Horn synthetic....very comfortable, good quality, and fits the horse well.

  5. Wintec or Abetta.  If its just for fun and not showing you could get an Abetta with ostrich trim.  I have a black abetta with pink trim.

  6. the others have already said the best on the saddles for synthetic don't buy one of the cheap ones off of ebay unless you are going to use it for training and then put on a good one I bought one of the cheep ones because I needed a saddle that makes allot of noise and that I could leave in the corral or just throw on the ground I have never sat in it but its great for getting a horse use to a saddle
