My sister lets my nephew have pizza for breakfast and my brother in law gets mad. She says what is the difference if he eats it for breakfast or dinner? What are your thoughts? My kids about once a week (in the summer) want a dinner type food for breakfast and I let them as well sometimes pizza, sometimes chicken, but not every day. And during the school year they have typical breakfast food. She asked my opinion and I told her I do once a week during the summer but did not know what to tell her, is it that bad if he has dinner food for breakfast?

  1. my kids are 10 and 2 and they love breakfast food for dinner....they are very picky eaters and if they eat it, that is all that matters..I have never done dinner for breakfast though but if it's healthy and it gets them energy for school, no problem!!

  2. Breakfast in the school year is important because it gives you energy, but You should be fine in summer!

    Hope I helped :)

  3. i used to eat pancakes for dinner

  4. i wont do it for my kids i feel its heavy breakfast i prefer cereal  or cheese with cup of worm tea that's our breakfast lunch in dinner doesn't matter if u eat soft food or heavy food

  5. its not that its bad (in moderation) breakfast foods have better nutrients that they need in the morning. To much pizza that early can cause alsurs and stomach problems. Its not bad to have dinner once in awhile but not every day.

  6. I thnk u should stay out of your sisters and her husbands personal disagreements

  7. no as long as the food is going to fill them up and has some nutritional value.

  8. the way I see it, as long as they are eating healthy then it should not matter what they eat.  some get so picky that its easy to feed them what they want then get into an argument with them.

Ultimately he's eating bread, tomatoes and calcium!

  9. Depends on how often he does that. Pizza is not good for you, regardless of what time of the day you eat it. It's even worse for little kids, because they need food that is nutrient-dense, but they also need smaller serving sizes than adults.

Eating "dinner" foods for breakfast is fine. Sometimes I like eating a huge breakfast and a very small dinner, and I'm still alive

If he eats junk food once or twice a week total, and one of those times is breakfast, a slice of pizza is a fun routine-breaker.

If he eats pizza every day or  every other day, that's too much junk, regardless of whether it's eaten for breakfast or for dinner.

  10. When I was in school, on occasion, they would serve pizza for breakfast in the cafeteria.

  11. Of course it isn't bad. Some cultures make little distinction between breakfast food and dinner foods and those that do often have foods for breakfast that we would never have in the US.

Feed your child a balanced diet and don't worry about convention. My child's favorite breakfast is noodles with a little beef and vegetables. I don't make it every day but I certainly don't think it's unhealthy!

  12. I don't think it really matters.  Breakfast can be pretty much anything as long as its served in morning.  What is served usually depends on someones culture, like some people have tea, rice and veggies, others have ham and eggs.  So as long as it gives you what you need to get going in the morning, I say have at it.

  13. Not pizza everyday.  However, if there are dinner leftovers like spaghetti and meatballs, sure why not?  We have breakfast for dinner sometimes.  Maybe pizza once a week, but not everyday.

  14. If it's good for them, who cares what time of the day it is? I love having typical Breakfast food for dinner, and some people complain about that.

Your brother-in-law needs to find something real to get mad about! haha! Or maybe he should try getting those kids off to school in the morning! Not as easy as it looks!

  15. I have cake for breakfast, and I'm just fine during school, so I think that dinner food is good for a breakfast, like fried rice or things like that. But, during the school year, I feed my kids Frosted Mini-Wheats.

  16. I don't think it's that bad....as long as it's not super greesey or anything. It has cheese and meat and grain in it...I don't see anything wrong with it.

  17. It could be hard on the stomach, and get the day off to a bad start. You also might not get the other nutrients you get in breakfast food, but I don't really see a major problem with it.

  18. At least the kid is being fed something! I would maybe feed him breakfast pizza, with eggs, ham, bacon, cheese, tomato, sausage....breakfast type food on it. I will sometimes let my kids have non breakfast food for breakfast, but not often. I have even been known to *gasp* let them have ice cream or cookies once in a blue moon. I really don't think it will hurt him, he is being fed and that is the most important part.

  19. It don't matter...

  20. I sorry but heavy carb food for breakfast makes for a dull (foggy) brain at school.  I believe in a nutritious start to every day especially including protein.  It will also satisfy them until lunchtime.  Heavy carbs supply a false boost then let a down.
