What breed do you think my cat is?

Question

I adopted my cat when she was three years old from the humane society and they listed her as a domestic medium hair. I know nothing about her life before she came to live with me other then the previous owners didn't want her because she was pregnant. My cousin insists that she is a Angora cat. My cousin won't shut up about it (she doesn't think that she is never wrong), what breed do does everyone here think she is. Here are some pictures:

nothing medium about it, she's a domestic LONG hair.  she is basically a mutt, with no discernible heritage to her. personally, i like them best - they have the best of all sorts of breeds mixed up in one furry body. if i had to narrow it down to one breed, i'd guess possibly some maine coon in her ancestry somewhere...but even then, it's only likely to be a small amount.

angora's have shorter hair around the body, with fluffy tails & neck ruffs. yours is just fluffy all over, with a heavier body build than a turkish angora has. your girl looks like she is also quite a bit larger than an angora. they're fairly petite cats. yours is a beautiful girl, though. LOVE the colour.

She is a a domestic long hair.  She is a beauty too.  Tell your cousin to get a grip.  She is wrong and she needs to accept it.

Looks like a domesticated house cat to me.

If it's that big of a deal to your cousin, just smile at her, nod, and say, "yeah, she's an angora."  And then be done with it.

PS: If your cousin DOESN'T think she's NEVER wrong, that would mean that she realizes that occasionally, she IS wrong.

PPS:  Your cousin sounds like a real brat!  :-)  I think your cat is beautiful!

an angora, could be,.... but she looks to me like a domestic long hair, or maybe even a persian mix
