also Britannia Petite is the same.. but both breeds are high-strung and are prone to bite. There is no such thing as a Dwarf Lop.. there are many types of lops, which are more docile. The holland lop is small, and a very popular pet rabbit, and easy to find. The mini rex is extremely popular in my area and they have a soft velvety fur, and are docile. Dwarf Hotots are docile too, and about as small as a netherland dwarf. You shouldn't just jump in and buy a bunny. Bunnies are very skittish in nature, and you need to get to know your bunny, and play with them everyday. I hope I've helped.

The Netherland Dwarf and Brittania Petite are both tied for smallest with a "Standard of Perfection" weight limit of 2.5 lbs to compete in rabbit shows..

The smallest lop is actually the Holland Lop with a top standard weight of 4 lbs.. The Mini Lop is  larger with a maximum show weight of 6.5 lbs..

Naturally though, those are standard weights from animals bred to meet the standard. Most rabbits in a pet store are mixes or poorly bred purebreds that may reach much higher weights.. My parents bought us a 'Dwarf" rabbit that grew into an 8 lb bunny..

Netherland dwarfs, but giant rabbits are usually the ones kept as house rabbits, as they are big, and more like the size of a small dog

Polish/britannia petite and netherland dwarf are the smallest domestic breeds of rabbit.The averageweight is 0.9kg

The mini lop(holland lop in usa) is 1.5-2kg

The lion head dwarf is 1.5kg

The cashmere lop is 1.5kg

The dwarf lop (mini lop in america) is 2-2.5kg

the mini rex is 1.7 - 2kg

Theses are average UK weights for which i did a lot of research for my rabbit care manual as there are so many variations and show weight can be slightly different to general pet rabbit weight.

Show weight standards vary in different countries.

The lop eared dwarf rabbits are smaller versions of the french and german lop  but being dwarf does not mean they stay really tiny.

I have had everything from Netherland Dwarfs to Continental giants as house pets. The Netherland dwarfs are obviously the cleanest being the smallest but that does not mean they are the friendliest. They can have a tendancy to bite. The polish/britannia petite are very fiesty and are best kept for show only.

The mini lop and dwarf lops are good house rabbits that pick up routine quickly.

Make sure your rabbits are given outdoor exercise and are  allowed to graze for at least 5 hours a day.

There are several breeds that have  been miniaturized, the most common being the mini-lop, a bunny whose ears flop down instead of sticking straight up as is normal for most bunnies.
