What breed of chicken is a commercial Ross?

It's a bit harder for others to understand but What breed of chicken is a commercial ross? I know cornish x rocks are known as Cobbs here and Red star is known as Hyline brown, so what is a rosses real breed. Ross Commercial name, yes, Breeders name for a ross??? Are rosses a cornish? Or another breed of meat chicken??.

Ross is a name associated with white feathered broiler chicks.  It doesn't really elaborate on this site but I guess it means cornish.

a lot of the commercial breeders will start with "grand parent" stock, usually crossing two breeds. the young females of that crossing are the parents, crossing again to produce the laying hens etc. light Sussex cross road island red produce "s*x linked" chicks, the female is brown,c***s are white, so you can dispose of any unwanted male birds - all about costs. a good Maren will lay really deep brown eggs so if crossed could pass on the really brown egg bit. Briton likes brown eggs Canada etc. like white eggs. no difference in taste , just what we have been programed to expect
