Well, i am vietnamese and mysiter sold one of her dogs in Vietnam and they ate it. I don't think its a pug....

4 legs and fur. it doesnt really matter beacuse they deep fly everything.  they prefer a 3 legged dog because they are easier to catch.

Chinese people actually don't eat much dog, on the whole, but many other people all around the world do, including Canadians, Koreans, Germans, Nigerians, Mexicans, Filipino, Swiss and Native Americans.

Most cultures that eat dog-meat eat "farmed meat" raised for the purpose, and farmed dogs are typically "mutts".

Meat is meat. About 8 million dogs are euthanized each year in the US alone.  What a waste, don't you think?

There are a few, mostly asian cultures that still eat the meat from dogs.  The Chinese, Korean, Japanese and Vietnamese all have some demand for dog meat.   The practice of eating dog meat has stopped in most Western cultures, with a few exceptions.  

There seems to be no reference to specific breed of dog other than black dogs.  Some ancient Mexican cultures raised and ate chihauha for.  

The dog meat is beleived to keep your warmer in winter and to help with the male libido.

You should say Mainland Chinese, and I don't think all of them do, some like them I think.

My father is Sino Malaysian and my mother is Taiwanese and we do not eat dogs.

They don't eat any breed of dog that people would keep as a pet. The dogs that are eaten in china are bred and raised specifically as meat. If the breed has a name at all then it would only be in Chinese as they don't exists outside of china (or at least not in any English speaking countries).

As for why? well because apparently dog meat tastes really good. I guess you don't really need more of a reason than that.
