What breed of dog is this?

my mom adopted this dog. and we dont know what it is. i was thinking golden retreiver mix or something. my mom said retriever - irish settler mix

It does look like a retreiver-setter mix. :) I'd say that's a pretty accurate guess.

It could be Golden Retriever mix, it could also be a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever mix as well. Unfortunately if you have never met the parents you will probably never know. It is a very good looking dog though.

What a cute dog!  Such a happy, sweet face!  Okay, now that that's over.....I see some Brittany Spaniel or some sort of spaniel in the dog.  Maybe a Golden/Brittany mix,.  I do not see any Irish Setter, nose is too square.

Those are pretty bad pictures for guessing a mix.  From what I can see, there doesn't seem to be anything that would indicate irish setter at all.  Golden retriever is a good guess and a very real possibility.  Looks like maybe something smaller though, perhaps a spaniel of some kind, but it's really hard to judge as those pictures don't have anything that give a good idea of the dog's size.

It's kind of hard to tell from those pictures, because I can't exactly see it's whole body. But there's definitely some golden retriever in it.

Wow, that almost looks like a Nova Scotia Duck Trolling Retriever. No kidding.

If I were to guess it if it is truly a mix then it definitely has some retriever and maybe some setter.

So gorgeous!  The first thing I thought was a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever mix.  I also see GR/Beagle/Chihuahua mix...I can also see what your mom sees as far as the Irish Settler goes.  I swear though, it looks a lot like this dog Skibo I know and he is a Nova Scotia.  They are great dogs.

It looks something between a Spaniel and a Labrador..that might just be me though.

Definitely retriever with poss some golden lab, but definitely what my grandfather called a 'sooner' in that he would 'sooner' be with you than anywhere else, retriever mongrel whatever he looks and seems like a good dog, love him for being his self namely a dog!
