  1. I love lusitanos or TBs that are dapple. Also percherons really anything thats semi drafty.

  2. Color doesn't really matter in a horse, but if you really want a dappled grey, then I personally love Connemarra/TB mixes. Or just TB. Or just Connemara.  :)

  3. remember that a dapple is born black or almost black and whitens with age.

  4. um don't buy a breed for a color.

the best dapples are found in percherons and draft horses, but also some oldenburgs ($$$) and arabs.

  5. Any horses really but what I think you should be more consinered about is the breed

  6. Well, first off, I think you should REALLY consider the bree/horse's characteristics and how it meshes with what you want and need in a horse, rather than what colour it is available in. That being said... I've seen a few very attractive TBs who were dappled grey.

  7. percheron horses look great with a dapple grey

  8. Just remember, the dapple fades as the horse ages.  Some to nearly white.

  9. Arabs - http://www.flickr.com/photos/7326810@N08...

    thoroughbred - http://www.flickr.com/photos/29187775@N0...

  10. A new horse just came into our barn. It is absolutely amazing looking dappled grey. Now u should relly look at what u need before the color but if u just want the color look at an Andalusian.  They grow amazing hair and this one rocks at dresage

  11. I agree with above...it's about the horse's disposition/skill rather than color. But, I think there are some VERY good looking dapple grey arabians =]

  12. A arabian or apraloosa (ArabianxAppaloosa) because that is there native color.

  13. Dappling is just a stage in the graying process.....you will eventually end up with a white horse. Some gray fast and some take 10 years or more to finally whiten, but you will not be able to have that beautiful dapple gray with the black points for very long. They are pretty though. Ive worked with Arabians and AQHA so I like both Breeds in that color.
