The Saanens are the most popular milk goats in Malaysia.

I would like the opportunity to explain my answer.  Apparently I interrupted your question differently from your second answerer.  By the "most popular" milk goats I was thinking that you meant the most wanted or most sought after milk goat.  Malaysia and Malaysian farmers are actively importing all of the high milk yielding Saanens that they can, mostly from Australia. If by the most popular, you were looking for the most common goats in Malaysia, then your second answer is exactly right. Thanks.

Interesting question, because you asked specifically about Malaysia.

Malaysia has about a quarter of a million goats.  Almost all of them are cross bred goats.

They cross the indiginous goats with the local breeds, to try for heartier breeds.  They have very high kid mortality rates in Malaysia.

The dairy breed (if pure bred) you would probably see their the most are Guanzhong Dairy.

Guanzhong Dairy is the name of the breed (both words).

Their most common goat is the Jamnapari, which they cross breed almost everything with.

They do have some exotic goat (exotic for their location) like Anglo-Nubians, and Saanen they cross too.

So cross bred goats are the most common, this would include the dairy (milking ) goats.

For anyone keeping pure milking goats it would be the Guanzhong Dairy.

Their most common pure bred goat is the Jamnapari.

Goats are actually on the decline in Malaysia, because of a belief that goat fat leads to heart disease (not true, by the way).
