What bug is this? its black and red with a orange dot?

What bug is this? and its not the box elder its different theres hundreds in my yard and i think there meat eaters because i found tons of the on my cat's wet food.

It IS a box elder bug.  It's just one of the nymph stages.  Doesn't look quite like an adult box elder bug until it has finshed all it's nymph stages and emerges as a mature adult bug.

They aren't harmful, just annoying.
