What bugs are okay for baby chicks to eat?

Once in a while an ant climbs into their box and they

attack it and eat it. Is it alright if they eat ants?

What happens if they eat too much?

they will eat almost anything they see crawling around

yea it is ok, i dont think anything wrong can happen...

If they attack and eat it on their own, that's ok.  Their instincts are telling them to do that.  Ants are safe to eat and I don't think they'll eat too much.  

When you see chickens scratching in the ground, many times they are looking for insects to eat.  It's normal for them to eat bugs.

Eating ants won't hurt your chicks.  An occasional ant is ok and a good source of protein.  Your chicks will not eat too much.  They know when to stop eating when they have had enough.  Make sure there are not too many ants crawling in their box though.  The ants can see your chicks as a source of food.  Too many stings and your chicks could die.
