What bugs make weird holes in the ground?

I have a flower garden in my front yard. It sits along the front of the house where there is an overhang of the front of the house. Ive' been noticing weird holes in the dirt under the overhang. I guess you could describe them as small sink holes about 1"-2" in diameter. Maybe .5" deep. Does anyone know what these are caused by?

I am positive it is ant lions i'm in texas and there every where.
