  1. Pure carbon burns in oxygen to make only CO2.

    C(s) + O2(g) --> CO2(g)

    You can also oxidize CO to get CO2

    2CO(g) + O2(g) --> 2CO2(g)

  3. There is nothing in Oxygen specifically that can be burned to give you CO2. oxygen is a pure element.

    There are many organic and inorganic molecules that use Oxygen to have an end product of CO2. The most important biological "burning" of sugars using O2 to create CO2 is called oxidative phosphorylation.

  4. I think CO carbon monoxide, not too sure though
