What burns more, running or biking two miles?

which is better- if i run two miles.

or if i bike (if i try to go really fast) two miles.

the land here is flat, no hills or anything so it wouldnt make a difference.

    If you dont have much time...bike.

    if you have as much time as you need..run.

    If you dont have much energy...bike.

    If you have A LOT of energy...run.

    I'd take an iPod either way.

    running 2 miles would take 10-15 minutes.

    biking 2 miles would take 5-8 minutes.

  4. i biked everyday for a lot more than two miles,running will take longer if your on a short time Spanto do things i would cconsiderbiking cuz if your late you can switch gears and pedal and gain a lot more speed

    , if u use the hardest gear the entire time

  5. From a physics point of view, it takes the same amount of 'energy' to move the weight of your body two miles by foot or bike. Of course you need to add the weight of the bike which would require more energy. The difference comes into play when you start to factor in any extra energy you may put out for acceleration, speed etc. So a lot depends on "how" you run or bike, not just the terrain.
