The prison website suggests taking a taxi from the station. The Transport Direct site gives the following hourly suggestion for a weekday:

Walk from railway station to the bus stop on Station Road. At xx11 take the Veolia (Dunn Line) no. 35 bus to Retford bus station, bay D, arriving at xx15. Then take the xx35 Stagecoach East Midlands no 42 from bay A (going to Worksop) to Ranby: Straight Mile, arriving at xx41. The prison entrance is a few minutes walk away.
