What business does a politician have 'bringing people to God'? since when is this a part of their job?

It's not, it loses them votes from most everyone except the fundamentalists and evangelicals.  However, in the US the christian population is so high that it gains them net votes, so its what they do to get more votes.

That will change given time, more and more people are identifying them self as non-religious.  When it ceases to be in the politicians best interest they'll quit doing it.  My great grand children might see an atheist or agnostic president.

It is the intention of most religions to convert the entire rest of the population to its teachings. A person who believes in his religion will press for this no matter what his occupation.

I don't see that as any of our business. The politician is still a human being. Being elected to an office doesn't forbid any religious activity. Some of us don't really get the real meaning of separation of church and state. Every one wants to forget or delete the part that says or the free practice thereof.

None whatsoever.  If they want to do that, they need to do it on their own time, not while running on the voter's and government's dime.

I believe it is a Christian's job to bring people to God no matter what there actual "job" is on this earth.

that is why religion is so important and always supported by politicians
