My mom read the child labor laws and it is legal for 14 and 15 year olds to work, no more than 3 hours a day and 18 hours a week. I am only 13, so I have been doing volunteer work. When I turn 14, where can I work?

  1. It might be hard to get hired unless you are responsible and reliable.  If you can convince the employer (at your interview) that you would be a good employee (give examples of times when you completed a task on time and done correctly) you might be able to get a job at the following:

    Retail (mall)

    Animal shelter

Unskilled labor (pool cleaner, tennis court sweeper, car washer, etc)

Fast Food (must look clean cut)

    Bakery (odd hours)

    Horse ranch

    Dog walking

If you have a hobby you can try to find a job selling or fixing whatever it is you like to do/use.

  2. Pretty much nowhere. At least not a real establishment like a fast food place.

  3. Newspaper distribution, fast food industry, office assistant for a small business, supermarkets like part-timers, dog walker....

  4. honey, you can do any thing you want to do, good old fashion baby-sitting is my choice. Choose and age you can handle. Everyone needs someone they can count on to stay with their kid(s) on occasion. your parents can call and check on you any time and meals are usually included!
