What cable/satelite provider is best and why?

It really depends on a couple of things like On Demand and HD.  Your cable provider generally has more "on demand" programming whereas Satellite mostly has PPV and such.

However, if you're into HD then DirectTV would be the right choice.  They are the exclusive provider of The NFL Ticket and have 3X more HD channels than Cable or DISH Network.

And don't buy all that nonsense about satellite and the weather.  If your dish is mounted correctly then you will only lose your signal when it is raining EXTREMELY hard, like can't see your hand in front of your face hard.  Then it's back in a minute.

Hi Jen,

I stand by Comcast for cable. I use the Cable / Internet package and it has been very reliable. My download speed exceeds their promised speed and my uploads meet their specs. We seldom have any kind of outage. My bill has always been correct.

You may not have a choice for cable. Most cities franchise one company and they are the only provider allowed to sell you cable.
