What cable should I use when connecting dvd player to tv to get best quality ?

  1. It really depends on the DVD player's capabilities. If you have an upconverting DVD player (most newer models) , I suggest that you use a component or HDMI connection, because these connections allow use of HD. If you just have a standard DVD player, a composite or S-Video connection is all that is really necessary.

  2. Using an HDMI cable will give you the best picture. Using a Component (RGB) cable will give you a good picture, but you will need to have a separate audio cable, besides the Component cable. Using an HDMI cable will still give you the best picture.
