I have a 1080p rated Polaroid TV, and I am going to purchase an 8800GT. I know the 8800GT can get to at least that resolution. What cables do I need to get the full 1080p (or 1900x1080) resolution?

  1. You don't need the cables, rather the updated driver. I assume you're hooking up your computer to your TV? All you need is the latest drivers. 1080p is just a resolution format. (Of course you also need an HD DVD player if you want to play HD DVDs)

  2. A DVI-D to DVI-D or HDMI cable -- depends on what the TV accepts.

DVI is the video portion of HDMI, so a cable as described will work fine. You will need to feed the audio too ... but I assume you will use the computer speakers. Or you can feed via an adapter if necessary to a sutable the TV audio input or an A/V receiver and speakers.
