  1. none -create a habitat with lotsa shelter from predators & weather.  use only hard plastic as pigs chew.

  2. make your own thats what im doing use this link it will work perfect.http://www.guineapigcages.com/howto.htm

    Good Luck!

  3. none do this

  4. a rabbit hutch is best they like to hide away when they wont to

  5. Guinea pigs are alot better of in a huch outdoors. But out of the two you have said the bared one is better. Just keep the cadge out of the dogs reach. The guinea pigs would naw away at the plastic

  6. C&C cages are the only way you should go, all other petstore cages are way too small.

  7. Definitely a C&C cage, they are the best and give the guinea pigs tons of room to run around.  Mine has been cat and dog proofed and is quite safe.  I have a secure lid so that there are no break ins.

I've never had a problem with my dogs chewing on the bars of a cage.  They stare at the guinea pigs, but have never chewed on the sides.  If your dog is likely to harass the pigs then try putting the cage up on a table to keep them away from the dog.

  8. No way!

All you need is called a  C&C cage: cubes and coroplast. Its easy to make and super cheap

The pet store cages are too small for the guinea pigs and way too expensive:60$

    http://www.guineapigcages.com/howto.htm for HOW TO

    C&C cage: 10$ coroplast, 15$ Cubes

I strongly suggest you read this page http://www.guineapigcages.com/

and since you didint know about cages, I doubt you know enough about the cavies to take good care of them... they live up to 8 years!!!!

PS NEVER PUT YOUR GUINEA PIG IN AN EXERCISE BALL

  9. Which ever one suits your lifestyle. I like the metal because my hamster chews through the plastic ones.

    xx

  10. Something like a rabbit hutch would be better for a guinea pig, unless it is only in the cage for very sort amounts of time. They like space and freedom to move about, just like any animal does.

  11. do guinea pigs chew alot?  if they do they'll get through the plastic easily, and you really shouldnt be letting your dog near the cage so that shouldnt be a problem!

  12. def the plastic one, i have both kinds and one of mine chews the bars, also the sawdust gets on the floor all the time, but dosnt with the plastic one

  13. Depends if the guinea pig lives indoors, a plastic base is better, for cleaning purposes. Outdoors they probably need a rabbit hutch type more for protection from the elements, but animals are always vulnerable in cages outside. I'm not at all sure about barred all the way round thier little toes might get caught up.
