  1. .22

  2. Depends on what you are using it for. If you're just wanting to target shoot I would go with the .177 and use BBs. They're a lot cheaper than pellets. If you're using it for hunting small game it probably won't make too much difference as to the caliber, but you need one that will shoot at least 1000 fps.

  3. That depends on the target, The .177 is a good choice for everyday shooting, but the .22 would be a better choice for small game animals, also remember to check your local firearm and hunting laws first.

  4. .177 is a pretty common air rifle caliber and pretty decent. most .22 are not air rifles i have never seen a .22 air rifle. my .22 is an actual firearm.

  5. It depends on what you want to do with the air-rifle. For target shooting .177 caliber is probably the better choice, mainly because the pellets are cheaper. If you're going to be using this air rifle as a dedicated hunting rifle, you'd probably be better off with the larger caliber since .22 caliber pellets tend to retain more energy at longer range and tend to kill more humanely. That's not to say that you can't hunt with .177 caliber pellets. You can. Its just that they have less energy and tend to lose energy quicker. Its not really a huge issue for squirrels, rabbits, or birds at close range (20-25 yards). But for larger small game animals like raccoon, possum, etc... or at longer ranges (30+ yards), the .22 is a better choice.

  6. .22 is the best for hunting stuff like squirrels and rabbits. If you want to target shoot or kill birds, .177 is good.
