I want a video camera that can record fun times between me and my friends with good graphics. It can't be like overly expensive (300 dollars max) but it can't be like super small or cheap or anything, and it has to be a good quiality, brand name one that I can record funny moments and good stuff with. That'll last me a while. It has to have good digital zoom and a case. It can't be too complicated and I want to be able to easily record videos and show them on my computer/ TV easily.

  2. My first choice for a camcorder is a MiniDV model and they are readily available for under $300. I would recommend a Panasonic model. The only drawback is the need for a Firewire port on your computer and video capture software. See http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-elect...

You may like a flash memory model better for its simplicity and ability to easily copy the videos onto your computer. For a flash memory model, check out the Panasonic SDR-S7K. See http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-elect...

Sony and Canon make similar models, but Sony uses their proprietary memory stick, whereas Panansonic uses the ever present SD chip. Canon makes excellent digital cameras, but their camcorders have not shown up well on reliability ratings.

I would avoid used cameras. You would have no warranty and camcorders are very ecpensive to fix.
