What came first, "yum" or "yummy"?

What came first?

Was it "Yummy" and someone decided to shorten it to "Yum?"

Or was it "Yum" and someone decided to make it cute and say "Yummy?"

I think Yum came first, and then someone decided it was too hard to purse the lips to make the "m" sound at the end, and it became Yummy!

I personally prefer saying "yummy"...
