What came first, the Dr Who theme song or Rock and Roll Part 2?

The doctor used the TARDIS to go to 1972 to rip off Rock and Roll Part 2 for the theme for his own show.

Dr Who was first broadcast in 1963.  Rock 'n' Roll Parts 1 and 2 was recorded in 1972. (Part 2 was the instrumental part)

The two were put together by the Timelords (later to become the KLF and the JAMMS) on the UK No1 single - Doctorin' The Tardis
