Question:

What came first?

In religion it is said that the world was created in 6 days.

In science it is said that the dinosaurs came first, then ice age and so on..

And would we be apes? In Religion it is stated that Adam and Eve were the first humans on earth. In science Apes. Although where would the apes come from during the ice age? Surely there wouldn't have been any apes then? But Dawin (the guy that said that we evolved from apes) how could we? I think he is talking about science. Although where can you say that we evolved from apes if during the ice age there were no apes!? APES LIVE IN WARMER PLACES/ CLIMATE!

What do you think people of the world?

  1. Agent 008---your thinking is all over the place--- they make wonderful brands of de-caffienated coffee nowadays.

  2. Would it be easier to think about evolving from the lichen we still see growing on rocks and trees?

  3. Humans already existed during the Ice Age (the last two at least).  The small ice age occured during the modern era.

It was during the last Big Ice Age that modern humans from Africa moved into Europe.  And it was during that ice age (or the end of it) that Neanderthal died out.

About apes living in warmer climates:  The Ice Age only really affect the northern reagions of the world (as far ice-sheets go).  And all animals adapt to their enviorment (or die out).  So it is safe to say that if there are apes today, they adapted well enough to the change.

    ++++++

By the way, Darwin never suggested that humans evolved from apes.  In fact, he probably stayed away fro m saying that on purpose because of attitudes of the time.

Darwin merely developed the theory of natural selection.  Many people believed in evolution already, Darwin's theory was (and is) just the most logical way of explaining how evolution took place.

  4. What this person thinks is that, if you want to understand science you need to make some effort to find out what scientists actually say and not just make up silly versions.

No dinosaurs did not come first. Simple cells came way before dinosaurs. For most of the time there has been life on Earth, it was in two, simple forms of plantlife.

    Yes, we are apes.

Apes evolved from earlier primates, which evolved from earlier mammals, and so on. The whole point of evolution is that no complex living things just popped into existence one day, each species came from an earlier species.

Yes, there were apes during the ice age.

If you want to know how we evolved, you could read up on the topic. It's too complex to explain fully here.

    Yes, Darwin was a scientist.

The rest of what you wrote makes even less sense the the early stuff you wrote.

Here are two links that, if you really wanted to understand evolutionary science, could help you:

  5. Your question is all over the place, but you should start to answer it by reading up on some basic information about biology, climate and history. Most of this can be done easily online. You should really check out www.talkorigins.org because they answer many common questions about evolution and have alot of good information about all sorts of related issues. Here are some issues you should look up:

    1. What is an "ice age"? How many have there been, how long have they lasted, and what has the global climate been like during them? How have global climates changed in the past few million years?

    2. What is human evolution? How did humans evolve? How did modern apes evolve? How are modern humans and different ape species related?

  6. if we evolved from apes..then why are there still apes that havent evolved?

  7. During the Ice Age, the entire world wasn't covered in ice.  Average temperatures all over were cooler, but Egypt probably wasn't getting snowstorms.  Apes would've been perfectly comfortable in a still fairly toasty Africa.  Besides, we're apes, and we do just fine in cooler temperatures.

Also, not all religions even have Adam and Eve as the first humans.  You're talking about JudeoChristian religions, while not even all JudeoChristians reject science.  In fact, it's generally only the very conservative, fundamentalist sects that do so.  Reform Jews, all sorts of Christians, from Catholics to most kinds of Protestants, and moderate Muslims have no problem with combining their faith with their reason.  This is not even to mention all the Buddhists, Confucianists, Hindus, and so on in the world.
