Mountain Dew came out first, it's made by Pepsi.

Mello Yello is just a cheap imitation that Coca-Cola came up with.

Since then all the other soda pop manufactures including store brands have come up with their own even cheaper imitations.

Mountain Dew is the best. Do the Dew !

Pepsi wanted to do something about those uncola nutz over at 7-up, so they did a pretty good job with mountain dew, but 7-up is always gonna win my heart. Coke came out with a version too called mello yello. MountainDew was before mello yello but both drinks were inspired by 7-up. And frankly neither while good will ever be like 7-up especially when used in conjunction with 7 Crown whiskey. Their is nothing better than a cold 7 and 7 on a hot dancing night.
