I mean only in little amounts. i hear it can bring up mileage but it will also mess up all the plastic in your fuel holder thingy in your car? but if i just a little(1 ounce per full tank) will it mess anything up? and does it really improve gas mileage?

  1. Not worth the expense for what it costs.    Shouldn't mess up the plastic parts as they should be impervious to stuff like acetone anyway.

What I find happens when people try these "mileage gimmics" is that once they put them on.  say cow magnets, or turbo fans in the air flow, etc. is that they drive better......lighter foot,  less acceleration on takeoff, and drive slower.   It's not magic.

If the car manufacturers could add a $2 part to their cars and get higher milage they would.   They're trying to get more and more cars to have higher gas milage and they have much better engineers than these so called "garage wizards" that can invent a $20 thingy that supposedly gets 20 more mpg.

Same goes for that mystical 100 mpg carburetor that the car companies are hiding from the public.  All hogwash.

So is that HHO or Brown Gas gimmick they sell.     It takes alternator power, (thus energy from the car's fuel) to make the so called miracle gas HHO.    If we could produce hydrogen with electricity and get more power out that the energy put in then we wouldn't have a fuel energy crisis.

Get a vacuum gauge and learn to drive slowly and reduce your speed and you'll get a good 10% increase in gas milage.

    Good luck

  2. hi,, acetone will evaporate inside the tank and vapors will go to the evap canister and deteriorate the components in its paths in time. so why waste your time and money that will not do any good.  you are better off using moth balls. an old trick to increase octane.

  3. its highly flamable but its also fingernail polish remover and if your that worried about gas mileage a bottom of stp will help or even a bottle of alcohol will bring up a lil and you would be better off with that

  4. It's a good solvent for cleaning & paint prep. That's all it's good for with your car.

  5. RoyG is is about spot on. I disagree about the 100 mpg carb though, it does exists but there is only one issue, it is good for only 1 speed/certain rpm, thats why it is not marketable. Same thing with the HHO, it works but only at a certain rpm.
